This is a great project to use up your batting scraps, since they can be any length, as long as you have a total of about 136 feet of batting that's a scant 2.5 inches wide. Do not connect your batting strips.
This is a workshop, so bring your sewing machine - it has to have the ability to sew a 5mm-wide zigzag stitch. We can provide assistance bringing your machine up and down the stairs to our classroom.
You will need to supply:
*One jelly roll
*Approximately 136 feet of 2.5" wide batting strips
*One size 14-18 Jeans sewing machine needle
*A large spool (at least 1,200 yards) of 50 wt. thread or 2 spools if using 40 wt. thread
*Batting seam tape I will show you a method to connect the batting strips if you prefer not to use the batting seam tape.
I wore my Machingers, which I normally use for free motion quilting, to make it easier to grip the fabric cord and manipulate the rug as you're sewing.
If you have a portable iron and ironing mat, bring it along.
